The Bureau of Land Management Southern Nevada District is moving forward with an environmental assessment to address potential issues associated with a proposal by the Federal Highway Administration to construct a multi-use trail in sections of Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area.

Ed and Kathy Hall have become regulars on the road to Red Rock Canyon. On a short ride, biking 15 miles from their home in Summerlin.

The Red Rock Legacy bike trail is moving forward in its development, as the Clark County Commission approved $4.7 million for the project.
The trail will connect Summerlin and the Red Rock visitor’s center, and will eventually complete a 40-mile loop similar to the Henderson River Mountain Loop Trail.
Construction is set to start next year on a planned $100-million bike and hiking trail from Las Vegas’ western suburbs to scenic Red Rock Canyon.
